A Night Against The Knight

Genre: Poetry
Title: A Night Against The Knight
Author: John King Ayanfe ©

What if that night began the end
And death stole sunshine before dawn
The lion would have been eaten by a mouse
Tsunami of the past erupts volcanic tears

Every spunk, motivation, aspiration and optimism were uprooted
Rage emptied the mind - filling in with storms
The chapter of perseverance was enclosed in quit
Demons danced hoping for a new king's coming

A star's luminosity outshone the sun's luminosity
Oh! Tell reality how it failed dreams
For potentials have been poisoned by hardscrabble
Forsaking the bearer at the territory of agonies

What if that night began the end
Yet the jungle has the old king as king
Faith for morrow crept in - pessimism trounced by optimism
He who quit not wins the feat

The hour of agonies shall pass away
But in morrow's stories they shall breathe
